Sand Point is Eastern Aleutian Tribes largest site. It is home to approximately 965 residents. Sand Point Community Health Center can be reached at (907)383-3151. The Sand Point Police Department is located there. Alaska Commercial (AC) and Trident Store are the two stores in Sand Point. AC is open from Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Sunday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Available restaurants include Aleutian China and the Harbor Café. Cut R Loose Espresso is the local coffee shop that is open seven days a week.
Precision Air, Lake Clark Air, and Eider Air make charter trips to Sand Point. Pen Air flies from Anchorage to Sand Point to deliver and pick- up mail and passengers Monday through Saturday. From May to September the Alaska Marine Highway M/V Tustumena stops here on a biweekly schedule.
