Sand Point

Sand Point is located on the remote Popof Island, where the Alaska Peninsula meets the Aleutian Island chain. Sand Point has been characterized as self-sufficient and progressive, with commercial fishing at the heart of their local culture. In addition to their vast fishing fleet, Sand Point offers impressive sand beaches, an array of hiking trails, and a Nature Preserve; situated at the top of the Peninsula, the Preserve is home to an abundance of bird species that will trigger a lifelong passion for birdwatching.
